Hunter Under Saddle
Pony and rider are judged under a walk/trot/canter. Appearance and behaviour are a large factor in scoring. Close contact saddle/basic english bridle in any colour required. Beige, grey, or tan breeches with a show coat, show shirt, helmet, and tall boots. Gloves are recommended but not required. Pony's mane should be braided.
Beginner Hunter Under Saddle
For in-experienced/young riders. Pony and rider are judged under a walk/trot and their appearance/behaviour is taken into account less as they're beginners. Close contact saddle/basic english bridle in any colour required. Beige, grey, or tan breeches with a show coat, show shirt, helmet and paddock boots. Gloves are recommended but not required. Pony's mane should be braided.
Hunter Over Fences
Split into three divisions. Pony and rider are judged on their form, and how they maneouver the course. Pace must be controlled and time is not a factor when scoring. Close contact saddle/basic english bridle in any colour required. Beige, grey, or tan breeches with a show coat, show shirt, helmet, and tall boots. Protective vest is required. Gloves are recommended but not required. Pony's mane should be braided.
Small Pony OF
Jumps are 2'-2'3".
Medium Pony OF
Jumps are 2'3"-2'6"
Large Pony OF
Jumps are 2'6"-3'
Dressage
Split into two divisions. English saddle in black or dark brown(does not have to be strictly a dressage saddle) with a square pad in any colour. Basic english bridle in black or dark brown with a loose ring snaffle bit. Rider may wear white or tan breeches, white or other light-coloured show shirt under a dark colour show jacket. Tall boots and a helmet are required(younger riders may wear paddock boots). Gloves are recommended but not required, it is suggested long hair be pinned up but it is also not required. Pony's mane should be braided.
Introductory Level
Walk/Trot. To introduce the rider and/or pony to the sport of dressage. To show understanding of riding the pony forward with a steady tempo into an elastic contact with independent, steady hands and a correctly balanced seat. To show proper geometry of figures in the arena. Test.
Training Level
Walk/Trot/Canter. To confirm that the horse is supple and moves freely forward in a clear and steady rhythm, accepting contact with the bit with correct bend (corners and circles). Test.
Cross Country
Rider and pony are judged on how quickly they complete the course without fault, form over the fences is not a huge impact on your score. Jumps are 2'3"-2'6". Close contact saddle and any type of english bridle required, any colour. Square or fitted pad in any colour, as well as protective boots. Rider must wear a protective vest, a helmet, and any style of boot. Long sleeved shirt and jacket are recommended as it will be chilly, gloves are optional.
Jumping
Jumps are 2'-2'6". Pony and rider are judged on how fast they can complete the course. Pace is a huge factor in your scoring, form is not as important as it is in Hunter OF. Close contact saddle and any type of english bridle required, any colour. Square or fitted pad in any colour. Protective boots are optional. Rider must wear a protective vest, a light colour show shirt, a dark coloured show jacket, tall boots, and a helmet. Gloves are optional. Pony's mane should be braided.
Halter
Pony is juged on his/her conformation. May be asked to walk/trot in-hand. Pony should wear either a plain, english bridle or a halter. Mane may be braided, but it is not required. Handler may wear whatever he or she wishes, however boots and helmet must be worn.
Gymkhana
Obstacle 1: Slalom, five bars, on horse: Lead the horse between the standing white bars (can be done in any pace).
Obstacle 2: Bucket Throw, on horse: You stand on the X (only on map, there is no X in "real life") and try to throw a bag of horse treats into the bucket (the O).
Obstacle 3: Potato-On-A-Spoon, on horse; You get a potato on a spoon and have to ride your horse from the first black line to the next as quickly as possible (can be done in any pace). If you lose the potato you must start over, if you lose it three times you continue.
Obstacle 4: Plank Walk, leading horse: You balance on a steady plank (about 10 cm/4 inches above the ground) while leading the horse.
MAP
The judge (Marie Williams, if you want to draw her somewhere in the image as well) will be standing in the middle of the arena and will help if anything happens.
You will not lose points or be penaltied if you draw your rider losing the potato or falling off the plank etc., it's completely okay!
